   I intend to purchase Phoenix Battery XP230 27 plates for use at home and to install it with Luminous UPS 800w and a Solar panel 0f 585-W. It is requested that I may kindly be updated as early as possible that is it feasible or not because the load shedding in our area is too much . Electricity is available only for four hours during 24 hours I.e 0900, 1300,1700and 1900 hours. Please guide me enabling to save my time,money and tension. Thanks and regards.

     Hey Raj,

     What is your load? You need to calculate your household load (i.e.#Lights, #Fans, #TV,) before making any purchase decision. A general rule of thumb is: the lower the load, the longer the battery backup time.

     In your case, a fully charged Phoenix XP 230 lead-acid battery can provide approximately 2280 watt-hours (12V*190AH), with 50-60% depth of discharge. The Luminous UPS 800 and 585-watt solar panels (with MPPT Solar Charge inverter) make a good combination. A 585-watt solar panel can generate approximately 4-6 kWh (or 4-6 units) of electricity per day, depending on weather and sunlight conditions.

     Tall Tubular batteries are also good choice for energy storage nowadays, with slightly high ticket price. You can also look into Tall Tubular batteries options , they have deep cycle discharge, high Life cycles (1250+) and usually requires less maintenance, and extended warranty period (only few brands offer 1 year warranty)
